'In the midst of winter I finally learned that there is in me an invincible summer'
Albert Camus
On November 23rd 2011 during National Interfaith Week fourteen people travelled in a minibus from Underbank Chapel across Sheffield to visit the Hindu Samaj on Buckenham St (S4). We were made very welcome. Earlier in the year (July 13th) Vibha and some of the women from the Samaj had visited Underbank Chapel Ladies Group.
At the Samaj we enjoyed a fascinating talk from Dr Patel. It was commented how very colourful the worship room is (the Mandir). We enjoyed hospitality and discussion in the social room and also met some people from the Sheffield Interfaith organisation.
We hope to maintain the link with our friends at the Samaj in 2012.
Thanks to Jennie Beard who took the photos (above and below).

Underbank Ladies Group welcomed Vibha and friends from the Hindu Samaj on July 13th. The meeting was in The Schoolroom, and it included refreshments from both members of the Underbank group, and from the visitors, (including Indian sweets).

'Something Special' - a number of those at the meeting had brought an object which is special to them, and this provided much sharing of thoughts and feelings. Some of the visitors also had time to look round the Chapel.

Photos were taken by Jennie Beard, Local Faith Network Worker, Sheffield Faiths Forum. Sheffield Faiths Forum has been working with Underbank Chapel to encourage a greater awareness between different faith communities in Sheffield. Jennie spoke at Underbank Chapel during InterFaith week 2010. (November 2010).
