It’s been back to school for our young friends … then along came the warm sun and the Indian Summer!  We hope you are all enjoying your new classes, and in some cases, new schools, colleges and university.

Thomas and Marcus Helliwell, twin grandsons of Ashley and Jean, started Ecclesfield Primary School at the beginning of September and are both enjoying it very much.

Alice Holder, granddaughter of Jean and Ashley attended a singing workshop during the summer break.  This lasted for one week and ended with a concert on the last evening at the Library Theatre.  It was run by Hilary Osborne, vocal coach, funded by the Arts Council.  Alice will attend another workshop during the October break.  She also passed her Grade 2 Singing exam.  Alice’s brother, Adam is at present studying for his A Levels at Notre Dame High School and recently had his 17th birthday and started driving lessons.

Charlie Helliwell is still loving his skiing and is congratulated by his instructor for being such a good listener.   Joseph is loving learning about Egypt and is producing lovely print-outs from the computer in hieroglyphics.  He is also very useful in helping dad to hang eleven doors.

Emily Darwin  has moved to Hillsborough College where she is studying Sports.  This entails refereeing football, coaching and other aspects of sport.

Imogen Laycock and Harry Revitt have both transferred to secondary education and are both just about coming to terms with finding their way around their respective schools.  Phoebe Revitt is still playing her violin at school with ‘Spaghetti Strings’ and has joined a combined schools orchestra.

Georgina Revitt continues with her driving lessons and is studying for her A levels next year.

Congratulations go to Georgina’s brother, Max Revitt, on obtaining a place at Imperial College, London, where he will study Electronics Engineering.  Best wishes Max.

We wish them all well in their studies.
